Walnut Street
Springfield, Illinois
In the fall of 2008, Woodruff reinterpreted the traditional cottage garden for his home in central Illinois. The home sits adjacent to a heavily trafficked street and public walk. To improve curb appeal and manage cut through foot traffic, Woodruff installed a mid-height, L-shaped border of low maintenance perennials, ornamental grasses and shrubs with selected annuals scattered throughout the plantings.
The garden has been featured in St. Louis Magazine AT HOME, Horticulture magazine and Consumer Reports.
